A little bit about me…
Hey friend! I'm Becca. If you like to read, keep on reading. If not all you need to know is that I am crazy about photography and graphic design, duh..before those two things though I love to spend time with my husband and family, decorate our apartment, and binge watch tv shows!
For all my fellow readers out there...here's a little back story about my business. I started in 2013 when I won a ticket to go to a photography conference Santa Barbara. Having the opportunity to go to this conference launched my business and I am so thankful for this turning point in my life. In the first few years I only did a few of my own weddings but I wasn't able to give my business everything it needed to get off the ground. Not until I quit my job at Starbucks and went full time! I work out of my home office in our little apartment and I am loving every moment of it!
Outside of my business I am a wife (of two and a half years) to my partner in crime, Justin. I’m an auntie to three energetic boys and one precious little girl. I love reading, crocheting, and doing puzzles. I’m a middle child, and I also married one! But the crazy thing is his mom is a middle child and my mom was born in the middle of three girls before her three brothers were born.
I have dreams to travel the world and experience life to the absolute fullest. However I am a HOMEBODY and I'm PERFECTLY happy cuddled up on the couch binge watching Grey's Anatomy or The Crown. I love interior design and am having so much fun finally decorating our first house!
Thanks for reading and I hope because you've learned all about me I'll have a chance to get to know you!
Why I do what I do…
Ever since I turned 13 photography has been a huge part my life. I got my first little red digital camera and I took photos of everything! Flowers, household decorations, the garden, and the dog. Eventually I had saved up enough money to purchase my first entry-level DSLR. That summer I photographed my first wedding! (I was very happy that I had decided to purchase a better camera!) It was for an older couple who just needed photos of the ceremony and a few of the two of them afterwards. They paid me $100 and my mom came with me as my assistant. Fast forward two years…I had just moved to Alberta and I got an inquiry for a beach wedding back home in the Okanagan. They flew me out and I got to photograph my first full wedding! That was a dream come true with an absolute dream couple. Another couple years went by and I missed photographing weddings so much! I started putting my name out there to be a second photographer, working for other photographer’s as their assistant/second shooter at weddings that they had booked. I got to work with my own wedding photographer at two of her weddings!
After finally quitting my job as a Supervisor at Starbucks and putting in some long hours working on my website and portfolio I was able to book 7 weddings for the summer of 2018 and second shoot 12 other weddings! After committing a whole summer to shooting a wedding every single weekend I knew I wanted to do this for a long time.
I find so much joy in people laughing together. When other’s cry, I get emotional and I feel what they are feeling. I love to capture these emotions! I don’t take the camera away from my face when I’m saying ridiculous things. I turn up the music when the song is making you cry. When you see your images for the first time after our session together you’ll immediately feel those feelings again. And any time you look at them in the future those feelings will come back and you’ll be reminded of the laugher and the emotion that you were feeling during your engagement session and on your wedding day.
Let’s get to know each other!
